gardens

Through the work of Lynn Grows, we aim to build on existing partnerships with the city around community garden management and strengthen the community garden network. We plan to do this through the following activities:

Develop a system to provide ongoing support for gardeners to ensure strong use of growing spaces

  • Maintain and build up the Lynn Community Garden Coordinator role to help manage gardener support system along with institutional partners

  • Develop and implement a process to support gardeners in the technical, physical, and event related issues they will encounter at community gardens

Utilize gardens as educational and empowerment spaces for Lynn residents

  • Use gardens as places for education around food, culture, and diversity, etc.

  • Celebrate communities and bring members together with gardens as a centerpiece

  • Generate more visibility and awareness of existing gardens and potential garden places through festivals, special events, etc.

Develop a community garden partnership with other institutions and residents

  • Identify key strategic partners that could assist with garden needs such as general maintenance, staffing of various events, garden management, general support, etc.
